Conduct Roller Operations
course description
This unit applies to those working in site-based roles, and covers the skills and knowledge required to operate a roller to compact materials in the civil or mining sectors for road construction, earthworks and drainage.
Skills and knowledge that must be demonstrated to pass this unit include:
Planning and preparing roller operations
Operating roller and adjusting techniques to suit site conditions and materials.
Conducting pre-start and post op checks and perform work activities.
Identifying and reporting hazards with roller operations.
Engage, disengage and adjust the compacting device.
Preparing to relocate, park up and secure the roller.
Conducting housekeeping, recycle and disposing of materials.
Accreditation
Participants will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment within 14 days of completing the course.
requirements
Participants will need to demonstrate sufficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills. Please advise us if you have any LLN concerns or issues as support is available, and/or adjustments can be made to ensure you are not disadvantaged in completing this course.
There are no other prerequisites to enrol in this course.
Duration
The duration for this course is 8 hours, running from 8am - 4pm.

Are you eligible for a CTF Rebate?
If you’re currently working in the civil construction industry, you may qualify for the CTF (Construction Training Fund) subsidy.
If you don’t currently qualify, you have up to 12 months to claim back with the CTF directly.
