Licence To Operate A SLEWING MOBILE CRANE (UP TO 20 TONNES)
course description
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a slewing mobile crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) up to 20 tonnes in accordance with all relevant legislative responsibilities.
Slewing mobile crane means a mobile crane incorporating a boom or jib that can be slewed, but does not include:
a front-end loader, or
a backhoe, or
an excavator, or
other earth moving equipment, when configured for crane operation.
A person performing this work is required to hold a slewing mobile crane with a MRC up to 20 tonnes HRWL.
This unit requires a person operating a slewing mobile crane with an MRC up to 20 tonnes to:
plan for the work/task
prepare for the work/task
perform work/task
pack up.
accreditation
Candidates will receive a Statement of Attainment and a Notice of Assessment to perform high-risk work as an interim licence within 14 days of course completion. WorkSafe will send students their High-Risk Work Licence directly.

Participants will need to demonstrate sufficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills. Please advise us if you have any LLN concerns or issues as support is available, and/or adjustments can be made to ensure you are not disadvantaged in completing this course.
Participants will need to be a minimum of 18 years of age to enrol in this course.
duration
Duration for this unit is 5 days, generally scheduled Monday - Friday and classes running 8am - 4pm.

Are you eligible for a CTF Rebate?
If you’re currently working in the civil construction industry, you may qualify for the CTF (Construction Training Fund) subsidy.
If you don’t currently qualify, you have up to 12 months to claim back with the CTF directly.
